I have been advised by the Sheriff's office that the investigation in regard to the anonymous threat shared on Facebook has been deemed not credible for our schools. It appears this same post, or very similar posts, have impacted school divisions across several counties and states over the past several days. As always TCPS will take all threats seriously and will continue to work with our partners in law enforcement. Thank you to all of our town and county officers for working to keep our students, faculty, and staff safe. We will continue to see an increased police presence in all of our schools. We are also working diligently to get our metal detectors in place and operational for another level of school security. Thanks to all of our school personnel for being there for our students and keeping our schools safe! -Dr. Chris Stacy, TCPS Superintendent

We are aware of a threatening post that has been circulating on social media. It appears to be similar to what nearby school systems have received. We have referred this post to the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office which handles our school security program. They are taking appropriate actions to protect our schools.
